Richard Asplin
Richard Asplin was born in 1972. His first novel, T-Shirt & Genes, was published in 2001 to critical acclaim and heralded by Tony Parsons as “the funniest debut novel since The Rachel Papers.” His follow up, Gagged – A Thriller With Jokes brought comparisons with Carl Haisson and Ben Elton. His latest novel – Conman – was shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger Award for the best crime novel of 2010. He has been a stand-up comedian, cartoonist, film critic, bookseller and underpants-salesman. He currently lives in London with his wife, a questionable quiff and a large vintage guitar collection.
